Several names are currently under consideration for the position of the new Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
According to details, PCB has been facing ongoing issues for quite some time. The stagnation in proceedings is due to the absence of a permanent chairman. Ashraf, facing a lack of authority, chose to resign, however Mustafa Ramday, set to remain on the board.
Najam Sethi is favorite for second member of the board. Other names in consideration include Nadeem Omar (owner of Quetta Gladiators), Ahmad Nawaz Sakhira, and Arif Saeed.
On the other hand, in a conversation with Cricket Pakistan representative, Ashraf stated, “I had no authority. I wanted to work for the betterment of Pakistan cricket, but I was not given the freedom to work. In such a situation, there was no benefit in staying in the position. The greatest thing is your dignity; that’s why I have decided to step down from the responsibility.”
With Ashraf’s departure, the positions of several officials are now at risk. It will also be challenging for the national cricket team’s coaches to continue in their roles. The upcoming days hold great importance, and significant decisions are expected during this time.
