RAWALPINDI:

After more than three years, the Punjab government has finalised a shortlist for the regular appointment of secretaries and controllers of examinations at the province’s nine educational boards.

The key posts had remained vacant for nearly three-and-a-half years and were being managed through additional charge arrangements by junior officials. The chairpersons of the nine boards, whose posts had also remained vacant for the same period, were appointed last week for one-and-a-half-year terms.

Officials said a committee has shortlisted 30 officers for the appointment of nine secretaries and nine controllers of examinations. The recommendations have been forwarded to the competent authority.

The women officers include Sidra Batool, Asma Qasim, Dr Nazia Karamat, Shagufta Parveen, Urooj Mubashir Cheema, Dr Maria, Dr Atiya Arshad, Hina Chaudhry, Nasira Bashir, Mehwish Naveed, Raheela Jamil, Nasreen Gul, Umaira Aleem and Kulsoom.

The 16 male officers shortlisted are Ali Asadullah, Saeed Asghar, Muhammad Qayyum Khan, Nazir Hussain, Gul Sher, Muhammad Naeem Khan, Muhammad Imtiaz, Rao Abdul Karim, Muhammad Khubaib Saqib, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Azam Rana, Safdar Javed, Sagheer Ahmed, Dr Chaudhry Shahid Saleem, Dr Naveed Azmat and Muhammad Akram Ashraf.
