Funeral prayers for two Pakistani civilians killed in unprovoked Indian firing along the Pakistan-India border were held in Kasur on Sunday, with a large number of people attending, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.
On Friday, two Pakistani civilians were killed, and another was injured after Indian BSF personnel opened fire near the Pakistan-India international border in Kasur. The incident reportedly occurred when three residents from Ladhar village moved a few steps beyond a border pillar, upon which BSF personnel opened fire on the men without warning.
Azmat Rasool and Mohsin Jatt were buried in their ancestral village of Jattan Wali Haveli, Lidhar, after the prayers.
The families of the two civilians said they remained undaunted and called for India to face Pakistan directly rather than target unarmed people living along the border.
“If the cowardly Indian forces have the courage, they should face the resilient Pakistani nation directly,” the families said.

Residents of the border areas also condemned what they described as a “heinous” act by Indian forces and termed it shameful.
In response to the incident, the Foreign Office on Saturday summoned India’s chargé d’affaires and lodged a strong protest. The FO said the BSF had used “unprovoked lethal force” against unarmed civilians and rejected any attempt to portray the deceased as “infiltrators”.
Pakistan called for an immediate and credible investigation, disciplinary and legal action against those responsible, and measures to prevent similar incidents.
