Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja has once again spoken out against the ongoing violence in Palestine, expressing outrage over the loss of innocent lives.
In an Instagram post, Khawaja condemned the recent civilian deaths, stating, “Over 130 children killed in one day. For no reason, to break a CEASEFIRE.”
He shared a screenshot of a post from Omar Suleiman, an American activist, showing the destruction Gaza faced when the latest Israeli attack led to 400+ deaths in the region.
The left-handed batter, who was born in Islamabad, also questioned the global response, pointing out the disparity in reactions depending on who the victims are.
“Now imagine if that happened on the opposite side. The outrage that would occur. All lives aren’t equal,” he wrote.
Khawaja emphasised the human toll behind the numbers, stating that these children would only be remembered as statistics in history.
He stressed that they had families—“mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers—just like us.”
Khawaja later reposted his instagram post on X (formerly Twitter), hoping it would reach more people.
Expressing concern over the growing indifference to violence, he added, “We can’t normalise this type of brutality. Although I’m afraid we may have.”
Khawaja has been a consistent advocate for Palestinian rights, previously making headlines for his vocal stance on humanitarian issues.
His latest remarks have once again sparked widespread discussion.
