LAHORE:
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has proposed regular exchanges of trade delegations, joint business forums, trade exhibitions and sector-specific meetings with Emirati business organisations to expand Pakistan-UAE trade, and invited UAE investors into agriculture, food processing, textiles, information technology, construction, logistics, minerals and value-added manufacturing.
LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar put the proposals to Salem Mohammed Al Zaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan, at a meeting on bilateral commercial relations, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.
Asghar said Pakistan offered considerable investment opportunities through its large consumer market, industrial capacity, skilled workforce and entrepreneurial potential, and that joint ventures in the identified sectors could contribute to industrial growth, employment generation and economic development.
He said closer engagement could open new avenues for trade and investment.
