WhatsApp services have been disrupted for users across Pakistan, with many people reporting difficulties in sharing voice notes and media files, including pictures and videos, since Thursday night.
Similar issues have also been observed on Instagram.
The disruptions have been particularly inconvenient for users in major cities such as Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Karachi, where most cases have been reported over the past 24 hours.
Users have taken to social media and DownDetector to report the problem. Some users have resorted to using virtual private networks (VPNs) to successfully send voice notes and media.
Despite these widespread reports, some users have stated that they have not encountered any issues with WhatsApp, indicating that the service is functioning normally for them.
As of now, neither the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) nor major Internet service providers (ISPs) have provided an explanation for the disruptions affecting a large number of users in Pakistan.
