Traffic plan announced for Chehlum procession in Karachi

Traffic police have issued a plan for the main Chehlum procession of the martyrs of Karbala, which will start from Nishtar Park and end at Husainian Iranian Imambargah, following designated routes.

According to traffic police, MA Jinnah Road will remain closed from Guru Mandir to Tower on Monday.

Passengers coming from Nazimabad can use Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road to reach their destinations. Those coming from Liaquatabad can travel via Teen Hatti to Lasbela Chowk and then towards Central Jail.

Travellers from Hasan Square to Peoples Chowrangi can take Kashmir Road, Sharah-e-Quaideen, and Jail Flyover to reach Nishtar Road via Teen Hatti. Individuals heading to Numaish from Sharea Faisal or Sharah-e-Quaideen can also use Kashmir Road.

Passengers going towards Central Jail Gate, Jamshed Road, Guru Mandir, or MA Jinnah Road can take Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazaar from Guru Mandir to reach their destinations.

Those heading from Garden Zoo to MA Jinnah Road can use the route from Uncle Surya to Gul Plaza or Holy Family Hospital.

All heavy traffic will be diverted from Liaquatabad No. 10 towards Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, proceeding via Habib Bank Flyover, State Avenue Road, and Sher Shah to Mauripur.

Heavy traffic will be allowed to come from Sharea Faisal or Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road, Habib Bank Bridge, and Sher Shah to Mauripur.

No light or heavy vehicles will be permitted beyond the Guru Mandir intersection onto the procession route. These vehicles will be redirected towards Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazaar.

MA Jinnah Road will be closed to all types of vehicles except those with special stickers indicating participation in the procession.

Vehicles with stickers will be allowed to enter via Sharah-e-Quaideen and Society Light Signal. No parking will be allowed on the procession route.
