LAHORE:
In a move to expand its outreach, the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has extended its jurisdiction to Murree, following directives from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
This expansion is part of a broader initiative to bring 12 additional districts into PRA’s fold across the province. A notification has been issued to operationalise the Murree office, which is in addition to the already established offices in Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura and Kasur.
To oversee the Murree office, Additional Commissioner Marzia Saleem has been appointed as efforts are underway to bring the unregistered Punjab sales tax payers into the tax net. PRA is holding meetings to engage with these taxpayers as part of efforts to increase compliance.
PRA said that it was actively pursuing a strategic plan to increase revenue resources and establish offices in more districts. These new offices are expected to facilitate taxpayers and contribute significantly to revenue growth. Plans are also in place to open offices in Attock and Jhelum in the near future.
