The Sindh government has imposed Section 144 across Karachi, banning gatherings of more than five people amid concerns over potential protests.

According to Express News, the decision follows a similar move in Balochistan and was formalised through a notification issued by Karachi Commissioner.

As a precaution, all roads surrounding the Karachi Press Club were sealed off with parked vehicles shortly after the notification was released, causing severe traffic congestion in the area.

The order prohibits any public assembly, rally, or protest involving more than five individuals. The restriction is aimed at maintaining law and order in the city.

Authorities have not confirmed the duration of the enforcement, but officials say the measure is temporary and will be reviewed based on the city’s security situation.
