Road tragedies in Karachi leave five dead, 11 injured

Karachi witnessed multiple tragic traffic accidents, resulting in the deaths of five people, including two young siblings, and injuries to 11 others, including four children.

A devastating accident occurred near Gulshan-e-Hadeed Link Road in Steel Town, where two young siblings suffered severe injuries in a motorcycle collision. The six-year-old sister, Gul Zadi, succumbed to her injuries while being taken to the hospital, and her 12-year-old brother, Abdul Razzaq, later passed away during treatment.

According to Steel Town SHO, Allan Khan Abbasi, the siblings were residents of Ghaghar Phatak and collided with a car coming from the opposite direction. The police have arrested the driver responsible for the accident and seized the vehicle. After completing legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the family, and further investigations are underway.

Port Qasim tragedy

A separate traffic accident near Port Qasim claimed the life of 23-year-old Hashim, son of Sakhawat. Rescue officials reported that Hashim, a trailer cleaner, was crushed under the wheels of his vehicle. His body was transferred to a nearby police station for legal proceedings, while authorities continue to investigate the incident.

Northern bypass collision

Another fatal accident occurred near the Afghan Cut, Indus Chowk, on Northern Bypass, where a 28-year-old man lost his life in a collision between a car and a trailer. Rescue teams transported the deceased to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, but his identity remains unknown.

A motorcyclist lost his life in an accident near Jamali Bridge on the Super Highway. SHO Site Super Highway Industrial Area Khalid Abbasi confirmed that the victim, identified as 28-year-old Shafiq Ahmed, was traveling with a friend when their motorcycle slipped, leading to his death. He was en route from a private housing society to his residence in Khadim Solangi Goth.

Injuries at Qayyumabad bridge

At Qayyumabad Bridge, a motorbike accident left four siblings injured. Rescue officials transported them to Jinnah Hospital, where they were identified as 15-year-old Tauqeer, 11-year-old Taskeen, 7-year-old Abia, and 5-year-old Hamza. The accident occurred when their motorcycle lost control while descending the bridge towards Defence and crashed into a wall.

A collision between two trucks near Dumba Goth, Ramzan Chowrangi, on the Super Highway resulted in injuries to seven individuals. Police rushed to the scene, and rescue teams transported the injured to Jinnah and Abbasi Hospitals.

The injured were identified as 32-year-old Asif, son of Azhar Hussain; 28-year-old Hayat, son of Wilayat; 26-year-old Shahid, son of Faqir Muhammad; 30-year-old Rafiq, son of Ghulam Qadir; 30-year-old Abid, son of Ghafoor; 25-year-old Qamar, son of Shehbaz; and 30-year-old Faisal, son of Maqbool.

Authorities are continuing their investigations into these tragic incidents to determine the causes and hold responsible parties accountable.
