Resham’s beef with KRQ

Do you think rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake are the only celebrities who have beef with each other? Think closer to home and think again. During a recent appearance on Suno To Sahi with Hina Niazi, actor Resham outlined her struggles with screenwriter Khalilur Rehman Qamar over the years, and the results are not pretty.

Lamenting the quality of the screenwriter’s work, Resham began, “People used to be proud of his dialogues. And now today, the dialogues he writes are coming back to haunt him. It is as if he has forgotten how to write.”

Citing divine justice as the cause of KRQ’s apparent decrease in writing output, the Muthi Bhar Chahat actor continued, “Watch how Allah takes things away from people! He had many fans, and I used to be one of them. I am not anymore.”

Accusing KRQ of lack of originality, Resham added, “When I saw him recently, all I could see is that he copies films from India. No one remembers any of the dialogues from his works anymore. His dialogues used to be his strength and were what people remembered him for – but today, they have become his weakness.”

Resham noted that despite her efforts, it is sometimes unavoidable having to come face to face with KRQ due to the fact that they both come from a showbiz background. Recalling a time when she ran into him on a social occasion where others from the industry were also present, Resham detailed her shock at the writer’s blatant rudeness.

“I do occasionally have to meet him, but he has a very loud, very rude way of talking,” explained Resham. “Once I had been invited somewhere by Humayun [Saeed] after his hit drama Meray Paas Tum Ho. Humayun told me to come, and he [KRQ] was also there. I said salam to him, and he just shouted at me and said, ‘Don’t say salam to me! Stay away!”

Recounting her shock, Resham shared, “I didn’t want to create a big scene in front of everyone. I kept my distance because my dignity is very dear to me. Otherwise, believe me, I know how to hold my own and talk back when someone is rude to me. This is his claim to fame now, you see.”

Over the years, KRQ has become almost as well known for falling out with women in the entertainment industry as he has for his written work – and now, after this latest list of grievances, it appears that there is no love lost between him and Resham.
