Major Waqas, an officer in the Pakistan Army, has set an inspiring example by adopting a baby girl who was abandoned and left for dead in a local graveyard in Nowshera.
The tragic incident occurred on 7 February 2025, when a baby girl was found alive but buried in the graveyard. Thanks to the prompt intervention of the 1122 Rescue Team, the baby was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital.
Upon learning of the incident while undergoing training at the Risalpur training centre, Major Waqas immediately rushed to the hospital.
After completing the necessary legal procedures, he adopted the baby girl through a civil court, giving her a new life. His selfless act has been widely praised across social media and local media channels.
