Karachi braces for cold spell as rain system approaches

Karachi remains gripped by chilly weather as temperatures stay low, with a rain-bearing system predicted to enter Pakistan between January 18 and 20.

The minimum temperature recorded today was 11°C, with visibility dropping to 2.5 kilometers due to light fog with the weather expected to stay cold and dry over the next 24 hours.

Winds from the northeast are expected to blow at speeds between 5 to 20 km/h, while maximum temperatures may reach 27°C. Yesterday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 10.8°C.

The Meteorological Department forecasts a rain-bearing system likely to enter Pakistan between January 18 and 20, bringing chances of light rain in Punjab alongside cloudy conditions.
