ISLAMABAD:

The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Sunday staged a ‘Gaza March rally’ at Islamabad’s F-9 Park, with its top leadership and supporters in attendance who warned of Israel’s “expanding ambitions” amid genocide against Palestinians and unravelling situation in the Middle East.

The rally began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by speeches from key leaders highlighting the plight of Palestinians and condemning Israel’s aggression.

Speaking at the rally, JI amir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman painted a grim picture of Gaza’s situation, saying, “The condition in Gaza has deteriorated immensely. Thousands of children, elderly and women are dying in the cold. Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians”.

He further accused the United States of supporting terrorism, saying that its version of democracy aligns only with its interests. “The US itself is built on the corpses of Native Americans.”

Hafiz Naeem also warned of Israel’s expanding ambitions, claiming, “Despite relentless bombings and military aggression, Palestinians have not retreated. Israel is now eyeing territories beyond Palestine, talking about extending its borders to Syria, Iraq and even Medina”.

Addressing the rally, JI Deputy amir Mian Muhammad Aslam criticised the US for leading global oppression and supporting Israeli actions. “Today, the forces of falsehood are led globally by America,” he said.

Referring to US President-elect Donald Trump’s threats against Gaza, Aslam added, “Trump has openly threatened to turn Gaza into hell, but Palestinians have demonstrated that power does not define justice—justice defines power”.

Aslam lauded the resilience of Palestinian fighters, stating, “The world is amazed at how unarmed Palestinians have withstood the immense power of Israel and the US for so long. Palestinian fighters are role models for freedom fighters across the globe”.

Since October 6, Israel has concentrated its operations in northern Gaza, with the military stating that its land and air offensive aims to prevent Hamas from regrouping.
