The Karachi division is likely to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms from 17 to 19 August, with the possibility of downpours in some areas, according to a monsoon alert issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The new weather system is expected to enter eastern Sindh on August 16 and gradually spread across the entire province.
Under the influence of this system, Karachi is forecast to see moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds during the period. Some locations may experience particularly intense downpours.
In rural Sindh, districts including Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sanghar, Jamshoro, Dadu, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, and Tando Muhammad Khan are also expected to receive rainfall.
In Sujawal, rain with thunderstorms is anticipated intermittently from the night of August 16 until August 19, with heavy to very heavy rainfall possible in several areas.
