In a thrilling Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match, Pakistani batsman Haider Ali turned the tide in favor of his team, Chattogram Kings, with a stunning display of power hitting.

With his team facing a challenging situation, Haider hit four consecutive sixes off four balls, leading his side from the brink of defeat to an improbable victory.

In the 37th match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the Rangpur Riders faced the Chittagong Kings in a thrilling encounter.

After winning the toss, the Chittagong Kings opted to bowl first and made an early impact with the ball, setting the tone for the match.

Shoriful Islam got the Kings off to a flying start by removing Steven Taylor for a duck, and Khaled Ahmed followed suit, dismissing Saif Hasan for just 8 runs.

The Riders’ troubles deepened when Soumya Sarkar was run out, and Khaled Ahmed secured his second wicket. The Riders found themselves under pressure after losing key wickets in quick succession.

However, Iftikhar Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan came to the rescue, rebuilding the innings after the team had slipped to 68-5.

The duo formed a vital 75-run partnership, with Iftikhar completing his half-century and remaining unbeaten on 65 runs.

Mehidy supported with a crucial knock of 22 not out off 20 balls, helping the Riders reach a competitive total of 143 runs.

The Kings’ bowlers Shoriful Islam and Shamim Hossain each took a wicket, contributing to the team’s efforts in bowling out the Riders.

In response, the Kings lost their first wicket early in their chase. However, opener Parvez Hossain Emon played a responsible innings, scoring 41 runs off 43 balls to steady the ship.

Yet, it was Haider Ali who stole the spotlight, playing a match-winning cameo. He smashed an explosive unbeaten 48 off just 18 balls, including 1 boundary and 6 towering sixes including four of consecutive balls.

His blistering performance propelled the Kings to a 5-wicket victory, chasing down the target with ease.

Despite early breakthroughs from the Riders’ bowlers, including Akif Javed’s removal of Lahiru Milantha and key wickets by Saifuddin, the Riders’ bowling attack failed to maintain momentum.

The Kings secured the win with 14 balls to spare, leaving the Riders to rue their missed opportunities.
