Celebrated Pakistani actor Ayeza Khan recently discussed the intricacies of her on-screen roles and their impact on her real-life persona, particularly delving into her character Mubashira Jaffer from the drama series Mein. In a video uploaded to Murtaza Ali Shah’s YouTube channel, Ayeza shared her perspective on the distinctions between her on-screen characters and her true self, highlighting the challenges of playing a character with stark differences.

Ayeza acknowledged the aggressive nature of the character and humorously expressed that she could never be as assertive in reality. She highlighted the stark contrast between Mubashira’s boldness and her own personality, noting that in real life, such aggression would not be tolerated.

Ayeza shared an interesting insight into the dynamics of her personal life, mentioning that her husband, Danish Taimoor, who is also an actor, plays a crucial role in understanding when she transitions between her on-screen character and her true self. “Had my husband not been an actor, he may not have known when I am Mubashira and when I am Ayeza,” she joked at first. However, she added, “In real life, I can’t be Mubashira, I’ll get kicked out of the house.”

The star shared an amusing anecdote about her son’s reaction to seeing the promotional material. “I think, my son – I was excited to see myself in character – when the promo came out, I was like, ‘I’m perfect’ and he was like, ‘You said it so angrily. You aren’t angry at me, right?’ He got really scared, he’s never seen me that angry.” This incident revealed a rare glimpse of Ayeza’s son witnessing her portrayal of a more intense character, showcasing the impact an on-screen role can have on those closest to her.

She further revealed that she never brings her characters home and maintains a clear boundary between her on-screen roles and personal life. Ayeza emphasised that once her outfits change, and she returns to her regular clothes, she seamlessly transitions back to being Ayeza, detached from the characters she portrays. “When my outfits change and I wear my clothes, I become Ayeza again,” stated the actor.

In Mein, Ayeza steps into the role of Mubashira, a character that goes beyond the conventional norms of society. As the fearless protagonist, Mubashira becomes a symbol of defiance, challenging established societal standards and making a profound impact on the lives of those in her orbit. Ayeza’s portrayal adds layers to the character, bringing to life the complexities of Mubashira’s journey as she navigates a world that demands conformity while asserting her individuality with courage and determination.

Consequently, Ayeza’s candid insights provide a glimpse into the challenges and nuances of balancing on-screen personas with real-life identities. The actor gracefully navigates the boundaries between fiction and reality, showcasing her versatility in embodying diverse characters while maintaining a distinct personal identity off-screen.
