Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar reacted angrily when questioned about his alleged connections with former ISI chief Faiz Hameed and his alleged involvement in the events of May 9.

During a TV programme, a journalist shared details of a recent phone conversation with Saqib Nisar. The journalist reported that there are indications of increasing scrutiny around Nisar, with his name being mentioned in ongoing inquiries related to Faiz Hameed.

The journalist revealed that three days ago, he had contacted Nisar to seek his stance on these allegations, including his handling of the Top City housing case.

He questioned Nisar about reports suggesting that he not only dismissed the case but also allegedly destroyed related records.

Nisar responded, stating that he made decisions as a judge based on what he believed was correct at the time and in accordance with the records.

When the journalist asked Nisar about his connections with Faiz Hameed and his role in the May 9 incidents, Nisar became agitated, declaring himself not answerable on these issues.

The journalist further mentioned that, according to his information, substantial evidence had already been gathered against Nisar, leading to his departure to London.

While Nisar claimed his visit was routine, the journalist noted that the timing coincided with a shift in Imran Khan’s public statements over the past three weeks.

It is noteworthy that former ISI Director General, Lieutenant General (Retd) Faiz Hameed, was recently taken into custody by the Pakistan Army.

Reports also indicate that three retired officers are currently under military detention as part of the court-martial proceedings against Faiz Hameed.
