LAHORE:

An Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore extended the physical remand of suspects involved in the Khalilur Rehman Qamar case by 10 days.

Amna Arooj and nine other suspects were presented before the ATC in Lahore after completing a seven-day remand in the Khalilur Rehman Qamar video leak case.

The court ordered a 10-day extension of the remand for nine suspects at the police’s request.

Judge Khalid Arshad instructed the investigation officer to present a report on the suspects, emphasizing that those found innocent should be released while evidence should be gathered against the guilty.

Qamar’s lawyer noted that the innocent suspects had already been cleared.

According to the police, the suspects are accomplices of Amna Arooj, and they allegedly kidnapped Qamar, demanding a ransom of Rs10 million.

The lawyer representing Amna Urooj, the accused in the Khalil-ur-Rehman honey trap case, argued in court that there is no evidence to support the charges against her client.

During a hearing at the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, Amna Urooj’s lawyer contended that the allegations of her client entrapping Khalil-ur-Rehman in a honey trap are baseless and unsupported by evidence.

“There is no evidence against the accused,” the lawyer stated, emphasizing that the case lacks substantial proof.

Qamar’s lawyer submitted a power of attorney on behalf of the plaintiff and requested additional time to prepare for the case.

In light of these developments, the court has adjourned the hearing until 10th August to allow further preparation and consideration of the arguments presented.
