ISLAMABAD:

Members of the National and Provincial Assemblies from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the PM House on Thursday wherein he assured them that the development of the province is the top priority of the government.

He emphasised that the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PMN-N) government had always prioritised the development of the merged districts.

The prime minister pledged to provide standard health and education facilities in the merged districts, announcing the establishment of Danish Schools to offer international-standard education to local students.

He also highlighted the need to combat electricity theft, promote solar energy, and provide relief to the poor and middle class.

He stated that the government is converting agricultural tubewells to solar energy nationwide, which will aid the agricultural sector’s development, increase cultivation land, and save billions of dollars in imported fuel costs.

PM Shehbaz mentioned the government’s recent announcement of significant relief for poor and middle-income people in electricity bills.

He further announced the formation of a committee, chaired by the deputy PM, to find sustainable solutions to the problems faced by the elected representatives of K-P.

The premier stated that the current government had to make tough decisions to revive the economy and prevent the country from defaulting, even at the cost of its political standing.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Ameer Muqam, K-P Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, and other high-ranking officials.
