Pakistan’s women’s cricket team secured a convincing victory over Nepal by 9 wickets in their second match of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024, held in Dambulla, Sri Lanka on Sunday.
After a disappointing start with a loss against India, Pakistan bounced back impressively, dominating Nepal across all facets of the game.
Electing to field after winning the toss, captain Nida Dar’s decision paid off as Pakistan restricted Nepal to a modest total of 108/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
Sadia Iqbal led the bowling attack with figures of 2 wickets for 19 runs, supported by Fatima Sana who claimed 1 wicket for 24 runs. Additionally, three Nepali batters were dismissed via run-outs.
In response, Pakistan chased the target in just 11.5 overs, showcasing a dominant batting display.
Gull Feroza was the standout performer, smashing 57 runs off 35 deliveries, including 10 boundaries. Muneeba Ali contributed significantly with an unbeaten 46, guiding Pakistan to victory with ease.
Earlier in the tournament, Nepal had clinched their maiden Asia Cup win by defeating UAE.
