An upcoming animated series based on the wildly popular game Among Us has just made a big announcement, revealing a lineup of talented actors set to voice its colourful crew members, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. CBS Studios, in collaboration with Innersloth, the developers behind the game, has secured the talents of Randall Park, Ashley Johnson, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Elijah Wood for the project.
The series, yet to be assigned a broadcasting outlet, promises to delve into the thrilling narrative that has captivated gamers worldwide. Set within the confines of a spaceship, the storyline mirrors that of the game, where the crew endeavours to root out an elusive alien shapeshifter responsible for wreaking havoc and chaos among them.
Park, known for his roles in WandaVision and Always Be My Maybe, will lend his voice to Red, the affable yet assertive captain steering the Skeld ship through treacherous waters. Johnson, recognised for her work in The Last of Us video game and Blindspot, will embody Purple, the ship’s vigilant and acerbic head of security. Brown, celebrated for her contributions to Community and Apple’s Central Park, steps into the role of Orange, the no-nonsense head of HR. And last but not least, Wood, renowned for his performances in Yellowjackets and The Lord of the Rings, takes on the character of Green, an enthusiastic but unpaid intern.
Development for the Among Us animated series commenced in the summer of 2023 under the auspices of CBS Studios and its animation division, Eye Animation Productions. The animation duties have been entrusted to Titmouse, the esteemed studio behind hits like Big Mouth and Star Trek: Lower Decks. A teaser image for the series was unveiled by Innersloth and CBS Studios in late January, stoking anticipation among fans.
The brainchild behind the Among Us adaptation is Owen Dennis, known for his work on Infinity Train, who holds an overall deal with CBS Studios. Serving as executive producers alongside Dennis are Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Carl Neisser of Innersloth, along with Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina from Titmouse.
With such a powerhouse lineup of talent and creative minds at the helm, the Among Us animated series is poised to take viewers on an exhilarating journey through the depths of space, where betrayal and suspicion lurk around every corner. Fans eagerly await further updates as the project hurtles towards its eventual release.
