Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has expressed his views on the legislative process, highlighting the importance of laws enacted by parliament, Express News reported.
During a dinner hosted by the Pakistan Bar Council in honour of outgoing Supreme Court judge Justice Sardar Tariq Masood on Tuesday night, Chief Justice Isa commended the parliament for its role in lawmaking.
In his address, CJP Isa emphasised that people should look towards parliament rather than the Supreme Court, asserting that laws crafted by the legislative body are pivotal and sustainable. He acknowledged the significance of a collaborative approach to decision-making in parliament, stating that decisions made through discussion and joint efforts are the most commendable.

Justice Isa expressed gratitude for the presence of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, who is set to retire on March 8. Describing him as the most capable senior judge, Chief Justice Isa praised Justice Masood’s expertise in criminal matters and lauded his consistent provision of sound administrative and legal advice.
A full court reference is scheduled to be held on Friday in honour of Justice Tariq Masood, where his contributions to the legal fraternity and his commendable service as a judge will be recognised.
During the dinner event, CJP Isa underscored the importance of parliamentary decisions, provided they align with the Constitution and fundamental rights.
He urged citizens to appreciate the legislative process and directed their attention toward parliament as the primary institution responsible for shaping the legal landscape of the country.
