McLaren has become the first Formula 1 team to reveal its 2025 car, the MCL39, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri completing a shakedown at Silverstone on Thursday.

Running a geometric camo livery in papaya and black, the team’s first track session comes ahead of F1’s official 75th-anniversary launch event on February 18.

After clinching their first constructors’ title in 26 years, McLaren enters the new season as favourites.

CEO Zak Brown called the MCL39’s debut a “big milestone” in their championship defence, acknowledging the tight competition on the grid.

Team principal Andrea Stella stressed the importance of continuous improvement, noting lessons learned from last season’s battles.

Norris, who finished runner-up to Max Verstappen in 2024, is focused on winning McLaren’s first drivers’ title since 2008.

“This year will be more competitive than ever,” he said, highlighting the challenge of staying ahead. Piastri, who secured his first two Grand Prix victories last year, is eager to build on that success.

The Silverstone run was one of McLaren’s two allotted filming days, used for system checks and promotional content.

The team will now prepare for pre-season testing in Bahrain on February 26 before the season opener in Australia on March 16.
