Federal Minister for Industry and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has announced that sugar will be available at discounted prices in every district during Ramadan.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Industry and Production, a meeting of the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain. During the meeting, he stated that a micro-plan for the distribution of sugar in every district will be unveiled this week.
The PSMA committed to selling sugar at the lowest possible prices for public consumption. The federal minister further emphasized that sugar will be available at discounted rates in every district during Ramadan as sugar stalls will be set up three days before the start of ther holy month and will continue until the 27th of Ramadan.
He assured that ample quantities of sugar would be available at these stalls, with the cooperation of provincial governments across the country. The official announcement of the discounted sugar prices will be made this week.
Minister Tanveer Hussain stated that Ramadan is a month of worship, and during this time, sugar will be provided at affordable prices to support the underprivileged segments of society.
