Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf has suffered a muscle strain in the lower chest, but his injury is not serious, according to an update from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Express News reported on Sunday.

Rauf sustained the injury while bowling against New Zealand on Saturday, prompting medical assessments, including an MRI and X-ray. The PCB confirmed that the scans showed no major concerns, and he is expected to recover in time for the ICC Champions Trophy, which begins on February 19 in Karachi.

“The injury is not severe, and we are optimistic that Haris Rauf will regain full fitness before the ICC Champions Trophy,” the PCB statement read.

As a precautionary measure, the team management has decided to rest Rauf for Pakistan’s upcoming match against South Africa on February 12 to ensure his full recovery.
