LAHORE:
A group of 89 Pakistan pilgrims crossed into India through Lahore’s Wagah border crossing on Sunday to take part in the urs ceremonies of the patron saint of the Indian subcontinent Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri (RA).
A total of 500 Pakistanis had applied for visa to attend the 813th death anniversary of the sufi saint. However, the Indian consulate in Islamabad issued one-week visas to only 102 applicants. Thirteen of the applicants could not go to India due to delay in issuance of visas and inclement weather. Talking to The Express Tribune, some of the pilgrims thanked the Almighty for getting this opportunity.
